I'm Yin, the mind and voice behind, 'Stratification of Thoughts'.

I started this blog after I took the Geologist Board Exam almost a decade ago (I know, I am old!) with the objective of helping other geology students who are preparing for their licensure exams and to put to use the reviewers I've made that time. I thought it would be a waste to just keep it on my Drive anyways. 

After a while, I also dabbled into publishing blogs as a way to make sense of the world around me through memories, reflections, and stories that capture everyday moments with depth and clarity. Whether it’s navigating life as an 8-to-5 employee back in the Philippines, as an au pair when I moved to Scandinavia a couple of years ago, travelling solo or with friends around Europe, or just sitting with a strong drink in hand and stronger emotions–this space is my journal made public.

What you’ll find here aside from Geology from time to time: philosophy, honest write-ups about life, introspection about current events and personal situations, and sometimes a little drama.

When I am not writing, I’m exploring my current country, hiking or training, reading books, overthinking my next move in life or indulging in my daydreams being back again in Norway (my happy place).

This blog is for anyone who feels deeply, thinks widely, and wants to find meaning in the in-between.
